Our concerts
We generally perform three or four concerts a year in various venues, often at the invitation of local churches. The choir regularly takes part in the Hitchin Festival and sometimes joins up with other choirs and orchestras - two of our most memorable concerts were the Mozart Requiem, performed in St Mary's, Hitchin, with the Stevenage Symphony Orchestra, and Bach's St Matthew Passion at the Coptic Orthodox Centre in Stevenage, for which we teamed up with the North Herts Guild of Singers.
We have also acted as weekend stand-ins for the choirs of Gloucester and Rochester Cathedrals, and hope to do the same at other locations in the future.
Whether it is singing unaccompanied in a tiny village church by candlelight or with a full orchestra in a huge hall, the Orpheus Choir always strives to give a performance of high quality that will leave the audience feeling they have had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
