Our data protection policy for choir members

We keep information about our members on a computer database, and print copies for administrative use.
 
This data includes:
Name **
Address
Telephone number(s) *
Voice part **
Email address **
 
The information marked ** is essential for the administration of our membership lists and for notifying you about the music, rehearsals and other activities of the choir. Information marked * is important to have on file in case it is necessary to contact you at short notice.
You may choose to withhold non-essential data, and if at any time you change your mind about the non-essential data you have provided you may ask the secretary to remove it from the database.
You may choose which data, if any, is shared with other members of the choir.
Under data protection legislation you are entitled to have access to this information if you wish.
All enquiries concerning the database should be made in writing to the secretary, who will respond within four weeks.
If a data breach is suspected, you will be informed immediately so that you can take the necessary measures (e.g. change of email password).
