Calling the tune
Our musical director since 2004 has been Anne-Marie Hetherington, whose career as an international opera singer spanned the roles of Mimi in La Boheme, Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and the Countess in Figaro. As well as performing in concert she has broadcast for the BBC and for Classic FM, and her conducting experience is wide-ranging.
Anne-Marie is assistant head teacher at Hitchin Boys' School. Her lively sense of humour and gentle patience, allied to formidable musicianship, make every rehearsal a rewarding experience.
